METLEN Energy & Metals (formerly MYTILINEOS), has successfully completed the sale of one of its UK solar portfolios to Schroders Greencoat.
The portfolio comprises of three solar farms, which are located in Gorse Lane Lincolnshire, Defford in Worcestershire and Watnall in Nottinghamshire and have an overall capacity of 110 MWp, powering the equivalent of approximately 41,300 homes annually.
The three solar farms were developed by METLEN’s MRES division in the UK and in April 2022 the business and Centrica signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Vodafone UK relating to the energy generated from the three solar farms.
This transaction demonstrates METLEN’s commitment to streamline and high-grade its portfolio to maximise shareholder value.
METLEN remains a global leader in complex, large-scale solar energy projects, offering clients complete photovoltaic construction services ranging from detailed design to construction with proven equipment from first-class manufacturers and long-term maintenance services.
In October 2023 METLEN announced the signing of an EPC contract for Cleve Hill, a 373MW solar park in Kent, UK with Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners. Cleve Hill is currently the UK’s largest consented solar project and is expected to be complete in early 2025.
