Energy Recovery facilities (also referred to as Energy-from-Waste) provide a safe technologically advanced means of waste treatment that reduces waste being sent to landfills while generating clean energy from the process. Ash is processed to recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals for recycling while all gases are collected, filtered and cleaned before being released safely into the atmosphere.
Covanta, Biffa and Green Energy Investment Group recognize the importance of being part of the wider community and have established a community engagement plan that will have positive impacts on our neighbors.
The new CCGT station of 826MW, is one of the largest natural gas fired powered combined cycle (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine – CCGT) power stations in Europe, is currently under construction within the Ag.
