Natural gas is imported to Greece through three different entry points:
Natural gas is one of the cleanest, safest and most useful forms of energy. It consists of a mixture of hydrocarbons in gaseous form, mainly from methane (over 85%) which is the lightest hydrocarbon, with no impurities and sulfur compounds. Natural gas is lighter than air and is not toxic.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is a natural gas which has been provisionally converted into a liquid form to facilitate its storage or transport. It is odorless, colorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive. Natural gas liquefies at a pressure close to atmospheric pressure and cooling, i.e. at about -160 ° C.
